Knights of Columbus
Knights of Columbus
Father John T. Butler Council #4084
Who are the Knights of Columbus?
The Knights of Columbus is the world’s largest Catholic fraternal service organization. Founded by the Venerable Father Michael J. McGivney in New Haven, Connecticut, in 1882, it originally served as a mutual benefit society for low-income immigrant Catholics. It has evolved into a fraternal benefit society dedicated to providing charitable services, promoting Catholic education, and actively defending Catholicism globally. Pope John Paul II referred to the Knights of Columbus as the “strong right arm of the Church” for their support for the Church and local communities, as well as for their philanthropic efforts.
About Our Council
We are a community of Catholic men dedicated to living our faith in our homes, council, parish, and the wider community. Our mission is to inspire men, their families, and our parish to grow closer to Christ by putting faith and charity into action. Through our programs and charitable works, we support individuals with developmental disabilities, assist the Pregnancy Resource Center, provide winter coats to children, help feed those in need through the Food for Families Program, and organize annual events for parish children and the Stroudsburg community.
Council Meetings
We meet on the 1st Monday and the 3rd Tuesday of the month at 7:00 PM at the Church of Saint Luke located at 818 Main Street, Stroudsburg PA 18360, in the Jacques Center. For information on joining or transferring into Council #4084, please email frjtbutlermembership@yahoo.com.
Become a Knight
Our Council warmly welcomes you to join a global community of over 2.1 million members dedicated to making a difference. Founded on the principles of charity, unity, and fraternity, the Knights strive to offer support and meaningful assistance to those in need—whether it’s helping the sick, disabled, or anyone facing hardship in our parish or local neighborhood. Our ongoing commitment to the Church and the community inspired Pope John Paul II to call the Knights the “strong right arm of the Church.” For more information on the Knights of Columbus website.
